I just love these big, lush feather dusters on display in a shop window in the 2e. Makes me want to get a French maid costume and start cleaning!

Only the French can make dusting sexy. Here in the states dusting is a matter of protecting against dangerous bacteria and allergens. Paranoia ain't sexy.:-)
